My son wanted lava cakes, but I wanted an easier option and have always loved hot fudge pudding cakes. This one turned out very well- baked up nicely with lots of gooey fudge to spoon over top. My only complaint is that recipe is severely lacking enough salt to balance out so much sugar. It’s much too sugary for my tastebuds without an adjustment.

Hi Lark, So glad your grandkids love it! That makes me so happy to hear. If you double the recipe, you have two good options
Two 9-inch pans: Bake them side-by-side for the standard 35 minutes. This is the safest way to get that perfect pudding texture.
One 9×13 inch pan: This will be quite thick. Check it at 35 minutes, but it will likely need 40–45 minutes to set properly. Enjoy the extra chocolate! Xx
