I stumbled across this recipe today looking for a soup recipe for dinner. I must admit I usually like to add things to get recipes the way I like. I didn’t have to add anything. It was delicious as is. That being said I am always looking for ways to add fiber so I dumped in a rinsed can of white beans. It was a nice addition. I will definetly check out your web site. Thank you for sharing. Wonderful recipe.

Hi Tiffany, for the best flavor, I’d recommend searing the beef and sautéing the onions first. Then, you can add them to the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients, except for the cabbage. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Add the cabbage in the last 30 minutes of cooking, so it doesn’t get too mushy. Enjoy! Xx

For crockpot version. Should I put all ingredients in raw and cook on low for a few hrs?

It is a perfect combination of balanced spices and flavors.
It can serve as a whole meal by itself.
Gives a satisfying feeling.
I made it several times. No fail recepie.

Absolutely Cindi, cabbage soup is perfect for a crockpot! The slow cooking method allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
